If the old adage “April showers bring May flowers” is true, then I anticipate spending more time indoors than out this month. To keep me company (and from going stir crazy), I’ll listen to a bunch of different programs, music, and books. Here’s a peek:
Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People is a podcast by comedian Chris Gethard. It has such an interesting premise: anonymous callers call in, and Gethard has to let them talk about whatever they want for the next hour. The caller can end the call before the hour is up, but Gethard can’t. The conversations range from incredibly emotional to just plain hilarious). To start, I recommend “2. Passport Exodus” and “4. The Most Amazing Destruction.”
First off, I love musicals, so it’s not out of the ordinary that something musical-related is on my playlist all the time. Ever since I saw the new Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen several months ago, I’ve been listening to the song “Waving Through a Window” on repeat. Not only is the music super catchy and the performance by Ben Platt stellar, the story of the show is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming. Once you listen to this song, you’ll want to see the show a.s.a.p.!
